Stadtteilgarten Tempelhof

[DeepL:] Everyone should be able to participate in the district garden.

The garden will be as barrier-free as possible. Together, possibilities for equal participation will be worked out. The most important thing is what the individual needs to be able to participate. People with disabilities determine with their needs how the garden will be set up together. They are supported in their participation in society, education and employment.

The garden is an example of 'social farming" in the city. Paths and areas are barrier-free. Guidance systems are set up. Participants use the garden in adapted raised beds. They find recreational and employment opportunities in organic farming and growing fruits and vegetables. They can harvest healthy food for their own consumption. People with disabilities participate in the maintenance of the landscape. They protect the endangered animals in the garden area. Employment of people with disabilities is intended.

The participants can pursue a meaningful and necessary occupation. They make an important contribution to the garden and are needed. The district garden also contributes to good neighborly relations in the district.

The garden is located on the Tempelhofer Feld. It is easy to reach by bus and train. The garden is open during the usual opening hours of the Tempelhofer Feld.

The project starts in September 2021
